Ordering a Commission
Thank you very much for taking an interest in my artwork. Here you can find information on how to order a commission from me.
Please note that the works in my site portfolio are not for sale. I work purely on a commission basis, so every image is tailor-made for you.
I will require a high-resolution digital photograph to use as a reference for the artwork. I prefer to use digital pictures for this because it's easier for me to zoom in on smaller details.
I understand you may have a favourite or special photograph, so please get in touch with me so I can judge whether or not I will be able to produce a high-quality image from it. I want to provide you with the best drawing possible, so if I feel I can't work with a photograph in any way, I will let you know before work begins.

Upon receiving your photograph and agreeing to the commission, I will create a unique artwork using high-quality graphite on size A4 (8.3 in X 11.7 in) cartridge paper. I guarantee that the drawing will be completed within 28 days of order, although if you wish for me to make any extensive revisions, this may take longer. For a general idea of my drawing process, click here to see a walkthrough of an artwork.
I will send you a scan of the image by email for you to approve, and I'm happy to make adjustments as wished. If you are completely happy with your artwork, the original piece will then be posted to you following payment. Inside the envelope, the drawing will be contained in a protective plastic wallet, allowing you to choose your own frame for your picture. Please be careful handling your artwork, as the graphite may smudge if touched.
If you require a commission for a certain date (such as a birthday or other event), then please allow me up 1 month to complete and post the image.
If you wish to gift someone an Elphame Arts drawing, you can also purchase a gift card. Please see Prices for more information.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please note that by commissioning artwork you are entering into a contract and will be required to pay on approval of your completed drawing. The original piece will only be posted upon receipt of the full amount. By sending me a photograph to use as a reference, you also give me permission to use the image for this purpose. The photo and your personal details will not be shared with any third parties, and will not be kept by me after dispatch of the original artwork.
